The S&S GROUP commenced business in September 1984, initially as a partnership under the name and style of GUARDIAN ELECTRONICS and incorporated as a private limited liability company in 1988, as GUARDIAN ELECTRONICS (PVT) LTD.
We broadened out vision from an electronics engineering company engaged in the supply and installation of fire alarm systems, security systems and CCTV to a Security & Safety company and re-organized as SECURITY & SAFETY SYSTEMS in 1991.
In 1992, we matured from being simply and import and supply type company and ventured into hi-tech industry, incorporating as VILLAM SECURITY & SAFETY SYSTEMS (PVT) LTD in collaboration with H. J. Beyer of Germany produced hi-tech security alarm control panels, fire alarm control panels and integrated security, safety and surveillance monitoring & control centers. This Company received was awarded “Pioneering Industry” status by the Ministry of Industry, Science & Technology, as well as, a five year tax holiday by the Finance Ministry, in recognition and appreciation of this historic and honoured status.
In 1993, we incorporated a subsidiary COUNTERFORCE1 SECURITY & SAFETY SYSTEMS (PVT) LTD., to meet the need for an efficient means of responding to ‘alarms’ as detected by the security and fire alarm systems we were installing – particularly in the residential security market. We sought to meet this need by the operation of a 24/7 Central Monitoring Station (CMS) and Rapid Response Teams directed to the incident location from the CMS and supported by law enforcement and other emergency response services i.e. Fire & Rescue Services, Paramedics and Bomb Disposal Team etc.
In 2003, we incorporated PROTECHT Risk Management Solutions Ltd., in the UK, as a risk management consulting and solutions provider for government and corporate clients. PROTECHT Engaged in risk management activities in Quito, Ecuador; Basra, Iraq and in consulting in the USA, Israel, Nepal and Singapore. Returning to our roots in Sri Lanka in 2005, PROTECHT contributed significantly to both the anti-terrorist and counter-terrorist outcomes which resulted in the ultimate decisive victory in Sri Lanka’s war on terror.
In 2007, S&S – Security & Safety Systems (Pvt) Ltd., was bifurcated to its two constituent elements SECURITY – as SECURITECH and SAFETY as PYROTECH.
